FAQ

Where do our sessions take place?

Depending on our agreement, we’ll meet either virtually via Zoom or in your office.

If you want our work to remain a personal investment away from your day job, I recommend that we do our sessions virtually so that they happen when and where you can be least distracted.

If your company is investing in you, I’m happy to work out an arrangement to see you in your office if you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What are your hours?

My coaching hours are typically Tuesday through Friday between 10 AM and 5 PM Pacific Time (exceptions can be arranged).

Once you sign an agreement to be a client, you will have the same weekly timeslot reserved just for you for the duration of our engagement. That way, you won’t have to worry about weekly scheduling, and we can settle into a rhythm that is conducive to delivering your desired results.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

The most important thing to me is that we are a good fit. I’d absolutely love to help you if I’m the right coach for you.

To determine this, the first step is to set up a free discovery session that typically lasts about 45 minutes. During that time, I’ll ask you some questions about your objectives for seeking coaching and give you time to ask me any questions you may have.

If we mutually agree it’s a fantastic idea to move forward, we can take care of scheduling at that time.

What is your payment policy?

Based on our initial free consultation, we’ll agree on the duration of our coaching agreement.

You’ll have the option to pay in installments or pay in full for a discount. If you elect to pay in installments, your first payment will be due upon receipt, and each subsequent payment every 6 weeks. You will be invoiced with a link to pay via PayPal or Stripe. Really simple and convenient!

What is your cancellation policy?

Because a weekly timeslot is reserved just for you, I ask that you cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice. I’ll do my best to find an alternate time to meet or work out some other arrangement.

Of course, I understand that life sometimes happens without warning. I’ll honor a one-time cancellation with shorter notice and add a session at a later point.

If, for whatever reason, you wish to terminate our coaching agreement before the end date, let’s first talk live about your concerns. If you’d still like to terminate our agreement, I’ll honor that decision if it’s made in writing at least 14 days before the last session would have taken place.

With what kinds of executives do you work (gender, age, etc.)?

My expertise is best suited for female VPs and above in their 40s to early 50s. I’ve found that these women are where they are in this stage of life because of the paths they’ve taken to get to high levels in their careers. These are life paths that I understand well from my own life experience.

Beyond demographics, it is most important that the client have some form of spiritual practice – a belief in a Higher Power of some kind. It doesn’t matter to me who or what that Higher Power is, as long as there is one. Some of the best tools I have in my arsenal hinge on this belief. If you’re a committed atheist, I’m afraid I won’t be a good executive coach for you.

What do we actually do in sessions?
Great question! You can read all about it on my page that discusses our work together.
Is there homework between sessions?

Depending on your goals and objectives, along with what we uncover during a session, I may suggest reading and/or simple practices to help you make progress.

You have total free will to do them or not, with a full understanding of and accountability for how your (in)action affects your desired outcomes.

I have been in your shoes and understand how precious time is. Rest assured, though: Anything I recommend to you is important if you wish to get what you say you truly want.

What is your professional training and experience?

I have a Ph.D. in Communication Arts and Sciences and multiple certifications in different coaching techniques and personality assessments. This includes Miracle-Minded Coaching training with Marianne Williamson, a world-renowned spiritual teacher and multi-time New York Times bestselling author who has herself coached thousands.

I have coached off and on since 2004, in between chapters of consulting and corporate executive leadership. My specialty interest lies in the intersection of neuroscience and spirituality, and I continue to study in these areas to keep my coaching toolkit up-to-date with the latest scientific research and practice breakthroughs.

The combination of these trainings and professional experiences makes me a unique and unmatched executive coach for the right client.

If you would like to know even more about me, I welcome you to check out my About page.

What do I need to know to maximize my success from working with you?

Be coachable and accountable. The fact that you’re seeking coaching says volumes about your desire to continue growing and being your best self.

I get that you’re a powerful executive with many accolades to your name, but I will likely make suggestions to you that may trigger ego resistance.

If you stay curious, suspend your objections, and trust that you’re guided to work with me for a good reason, you could very well be pleasantly surprised where that may take you.

What are some of your favorite travel memories?

Wandering aimlessly through different neighborhoods in Paris without any agenda to experience this amazing city – not just enjoying some of the greatest museums in the world…

Being completely mesmerized by Monet’s Water Lilies series wrapping around a massive room at the Musée de l’Orangerie…

Leaning into the railing of a ship slowly cruising down the Danube River, being moved to tears by the spectacular lighting and architecture on the shores of Budapest…

Walking down the streets of Stockholm at the crack of dawn, just as the city was stirring awake. With a blanket of fog mystifying a walking bridge between the modern city and Old Town Stockholm, I felt in the pit of my stomach the sensation of being on the cusp of falling in love…

Feeling sick to my stomach for the plight of the Holocaust victims while touring the Jewish Historical Museum and Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. An incredibly powerful, palpable experience…

Riding the country roads between Bruges and Amsterdam as a novice cyclist on a bike tour. This pushed me completely out of my comfort zone in more ways than one, including the need to be okay with feeling like a complete idiot on more than a few occasions…

What is a secret that not even your family knows?

Per The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, our inner artist is a little child. My inner artist loves the colors pink and lavender (okay, everyone in my life knows this!), princess stories, and blowing bubbles.

A few times a month, I’ll make sure that my inner artist gets to blow bubbles on the deck. Shhhh!!! That’s our little secret. Please, don’t make me hurt you!

What is a tongue-in-cheek paradox about you?

I love food but hate cooking. Well, not the cooking itself, but what needs to happen before (shopping and food prep) and after (cleaning up).

Solution? What’s not my genius is someone else’s job! I’m a proud supporter of local restaurants and local chefs (through the service Shef).
